A: We completely understand that for some people, visiting the dentist can be an intimidating experience. Be assured that we have many procedures in place to make your visit stress-free. All of the team here at AL Beautiful Smiles are very friendly and will accommodate any special requests you have.
If you are undergoing any particularly invasive treatments, all you have to do is raise your hand and we'll stop working, giving you a break to collect yourself. We'll only continue when you are completely ready and relaxed.
If you are particularly anxious, we can also provide treatment under sedation, which will relieve your anxiety and relax your muscles. During consultation, we will discuss your issues and worries and identify the best way to provide you with the dental care you need.
A: Technological advancements in sedatives and local anesthesia mean that all dental treatments are pain free. You may experience some slight discomfort following treatment, but painkillers will help you deal with this. This discomfort will only be temporary.
We will discuss with you the after effects of any treatment beforehand, so you will always have all the knowledge you need to make the right decision for you.
A: We believe so, yes. NHS dentists are restricted to what they can offer patients by government regulations, for example many NHS dentists won't offer white fillings. Also NHS dentists cannot offer purely cosmetic treatments such as veneers, crowns and teeth whitening.
NHS dentists are restricted by the NHS budget and may not be able to make use of the latest technologies such as 3D scanners. We also make sure to use the latest and most advanced materials for fillings and treatments. This means our dental work lasts longer, and provides you with better value for money in the long run.

A: During a consultation, we'll provide you with a breakdown of the treatment you need, if any is required. You don't have to proceed all at once and we'll give you guidance if your teeth require urgent work. We'll work with you to plan treatment so that it is effective rather than getting patchwork treatment which will need attention in a years time.
